Math: This week, students will learn the importance of partitioning shapes into equal parts. They will also learn to understand a fraction as a number on the number line. Students will learn how to identify equivalent fractions and compare fractions. They will also learn how to express whole numbers as fractions (ex. 3 = 3/1). As this is a short week, there will be no homework. Please continue to study multiplication tables each night with your child.
You can find the Unit 5 math letter at the following link: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Georgia-Standards/Frameworks/Unit-5-3rd-grade-parent-letter.pdf Multiplication: Please continue to study multiplication facts with your child each night, focusing on one multiplication table at a time. It is my desire that all students be fluent in their multiplication facts by Winter Break. The multiplication padlet can also help students in memorizing their times tables: https://padlet.com/watkinskr1/mult Have a wonderful week! Comments are closed.
