Math: This week, students will continue to practice comparing fractions and finding equivalent fractions. They will multiply or divide the numerator and denominator by the same number in order to find an equivalent fraction. Students will also compare fractions using number lines. They will also continue to learn how to express whole numbers as fractions (ex. 3 = 3/1, 6/2= 3). There will be no homework this week due to ITBS testing. Please study your child's interactive notebook with him or her as there will be a quiz at the end of the week after testing is over. The unit 5 test will be on Friday, November 2nd.
Conference Forms and Sign and Returns: Please send back signed math conference forms and sign and returns as soon as possible. Thank you You can find the Unit 5 math letter at the following link: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Georgia-Standards/Frameworks/Unit-5-3rd-grade-parent-letter.pdf Multiplication: Please continue to study multiplication facts with your child each night, focusing on one multiplication table at a time. It is my desire that all students be fluent in their multiplication facts by Winter Break. The multiplication padlet can also help students in memorizing their times tables: https://padlet.com/watkinskr1/mult Have a wonderful week! Comments are closed.
